We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Shrewsbury. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5, inspiring students to achieve their best and develop a lifelong love of English.
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in English, including Literature and Language, tailored to the needs of all learners.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations with engaging and effective teaching strategies.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting individual learning goals.
Manage classroom behaviour professionally, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources and share best practices.
Support students’ wider development through pastoral care and extracurricular activities.
Comply with safeguarding policies and promote student wellbeing at all times.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of the English curriculum at KS3, KS4, and KS5 levels.
Proven experience teaching English, ideally within a secondary school setting.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to engage and motivate students of varied abilities.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration.
Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to apply.
