Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time / Supply (Flexible)
Start Date: September 2025

About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Shrewsbury. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5, inspiring students to achieve their best and develop a lifelong love of English.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in English, including Literature and Language, tailored to the needs of all learners.

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations with engaging and effective teaching strategies.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and supporting individual learning goals.

  • Manage classroom behaviour professionally, maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources and share best practices.

  • Support students’ wider development through pastoral care and extracurricular activities.

  • Comply with safeguarding policies and promote student wellbeing at all times.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum at KS3, KS4, and KS5 levels.

  • Proven experience teaching English, ideally within a secondary school setting.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varied abilities.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration.

  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to apply.
