Pertemps Education Network in Reading is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons across the English curriculum and build positive relationships with students.

QTS is essential; you will differentiate for diverse abilities, assess progress and contribute to the wider life of the school. The role offers a competitive daily rate of £170-£250, depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • QTS and experience teaching English at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English lessons across the secondary curriculum.
  • Teach students with a range of abilities and learning needs, adapting your approach where appropriate.
  • Develop students' skills across reading, writing, analysis and communication.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages students to participate and achieve.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to make lessons challenging, accessible and engaging.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, using feedback and assessment to inform future planning.
  • Set high expectations for learning, behaviour and achievement.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students, encouraging confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the English department and across the wider school.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and support its positive and inclusive ethos.

Location: Reading | Start: ASAP | QTS Essential | £170-£250 per day

Are you an English Teacher looking for your next opportunity in a welcoming secondary school?

We are working with a mainstream secondary school in Reading that is looking for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join their team. The Role
