SEN Vacancy: English Teacher (PRU) – SM4

Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate and adaptable English Teacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in SM4.

Position Details:
· Position: English Teacher
· Location: Carshalton, London Borough of Sutton
· Start Date: Immediate Start
· Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
· Unqualified Teacher Daily Rate: £120 – £170 per day (depending on experience)
· Qualified Teacher Daily Rate (QTS): £180 – £250 (according to your teaching scale)
· Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent

About the Role
This role involves teaching KS3 students in small groups (up to six pupils) with a focus on providing tailored and impactful education. The role requires excellent behaviour management skills and an ability to engage reluctant learners in English.

Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to individual student needs.
· Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment in small group settings.
· Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
· Collaborate with a dedicated team to support the personal and academic development of students.
· Take on planning, preparation, and assessment duties associated with the role.

Requirements
· Experience teaching KS3 or primary-aged students (experience in a PRU or similar setting is ideal).
· Strong classroom management skills with the ability to adapt to diverse learner needs.
· Empathy, resilience, and a proactive approach to supporting students with additional challenges.
· Warm and energetic personality with a desire to help students succeed.
· A valid DBS on the update service.
· The right to work in the UK.
· Proven teaching experience (formal qualifications are not required, but experience is essential).
