About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, following the National Curriculum and relevant examination specifications.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
  • Utilize a range of teaching methods and resources, including literary analysis, creative writing workshops, and multimedia presentations, to enhance student learning.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support individual learning journeys.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature examinations, ensuring they have a strong understanding of assessment criteria.
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and resources, ensuring it is inclusive and reflects the diverse interests of our students.
  • Foster a love of literature and language in students, encouraging them to develop their critical thinking, communication, and creative writing skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Experience in preparing students for GCSE and A-Level English examinations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • A passion for English and a commitment to fostering literacy and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
