Job description

An inspiring and dedicated English Teacher is required to join an Outstanding girls school in Islington for a permanent position commencing in September. The successful candidate will cultivate a love for literature and language in students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 1116) fostering their critical thinking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan prepare and deliver engaging English Teacher lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 covering a diverse range of literary texts and language concepts.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations developing their analytical and writing abilities.
  • Cultivate a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages thoughtful discussion and articulate expression of ideas.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in English providing insightful feedback to support their literary and linguistic development.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in English Language and Literature.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching English Teacher lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • A strong and comprehensive knowledge of English literature language and effective pedagogical approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of inspiring a passion for reading writing and critical analysis in students.
