Job Title: English Teacher of Secondary School
Location: Fareham, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 - £46,535 per annum (Depending on experience).
Start time: After Easter 2025 or September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time (Permanent/Fixed Term) (Part-time available for the right candidate)

Are you a passionate and dedicated English Teacher of Secondary School seeking an exciting opportunity in Fareham?

GSL Education are working with several partner secondary schools in Fareham, Hampshire to find an adaptable and motivated English Teacher for daily supply and long-term cover.

We welcome applicants with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/ECT), those trained abroad, or skilled Teaching Assistants/Cover Supervisors eager to transition into a teaching career.

Role Overview:

As an English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging, thought-provoking, and inclusive lessons that inspire students to develop their love for literature and language. Your teaching will equip students with essential skills in reading, writing, and communication, helping them excel academically and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and structured lessons in English across different key stages.
• Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and independent learning.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing individualised support and feedback.
• Implement differentiated teaching strategies to support students with SEN and EAL needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and share innovative teaching approaches.
• Contribute to the wider school community through literacy initiatives and extracurricular activities.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Applications from overseas-trained teachers who meet UK teaching standards are welcomed.
• Experienced Teaching Assistants or Cover Supervisors looking to progress into teaching will also be considered.
• A strong command of the English language and subject expertise.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire students.
• A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Have an updated CV (with two relevant references from the last two years and covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
