English Teacher - Secondary School | Leeds | Veritas Education

Position: Full-Time English Teacher (KS3-KS4) optional KS5
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Salary: £190 - £230 per day (depending on experience and pay scale)
Start Date: Easter or September 2025
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (with long-term opportunity)

The Role:
  1. Deliver engaging and inclusive English lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4
  2. Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
  3. Foster a love of literature and language in a diverse and dynamic classroom
  4. Work collaboratively with the English department and wider school staff
  5. Support students' progress and provide constructive feedback
  6. Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities where possible
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  2. A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a related field
  3. Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3/KS4)
  4. Strong classroom management and communication skills
  5. Passion for the subject and commitment to student development
  6. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)
