Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated English Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to inspire and engage students? We are seeking a talented English Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school on a maternity cover basis for the full academic year from September 2025 to July 2026.

About the Role:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities and events.


About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for literature and language.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
