Job description

Blackstone Recruitment is working with a SEMHD School based in Stoke-on-Trent, who are looking for an English Teacher to join them from the Summer Term.

This is a temporary to permanent position, starting after Easter.

Job Summary

  • Working with a School that specializes in catering to the unique needs of young people facing SEMHD challenges.
  • Working within KS3 and KS4
  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
  • Teach both English Literature and Language, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening, to students of varying abilities.
  • Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practices for teaching English.
  • Organise extracurricular activities related to English language and literature to enhance student engagement.
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Job Specifics

Rate: 150 to 210 per day / 31,650 to 43,607 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

Contract Type: Temp to Perm

Payment: Umbrella / PAYE

Essential Requirements

  • UK Recognised QTS/QTLS/PGCE
  • Experience working with KS3 and/or KS4 pupils
  • Experience working in SEMH settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create innovative lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
  • Proficient in using technology as a teaching tool, including digital resources and online platforms.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A passion for literature and a desire to instil this passion in students.
