Gordano School in Portishead seeks a well-qualified, motivated and innovative Teacher of English to join our collaborative English team. The role focuses on delivering Core Support in Year 11 and Year 10, providing literacy interventions and pre-teaching for pupils, including those with EHCPs.

We value immersive, inclusive teaching that broadens students' literary perspectives. The postholder will contribute to leadership and trips, with a supportive environment and strong CPD opportunities

Competenze

Successful teaching experience with pupils in Years 7-11.
Ability to build excellent relationships with pupils and staff.
Good organisational skills and ability to work in a team.
Commitment to using ICT as a teaching tool.
Enthusiasm, flexibility and ability to adopt differing teaching styles.
Creativity in bringing ideas to the faculty.
Enthusiasm for and willingness to participate in or lead trips.

Mansioni

Deliver Core Support in Year 11 and Year 10 for students needing additional English support.
Plan, pre-teach, deliver and communicate with parents regarding literacy interventions for Years 7–11.
Foster an inclusive teaching approach across literature and media.
