Job Description:

A progressive Independent School in Harrow is seeking a passionate and creative English Teacher for a permanent, full-time position starting in September. The ideal English Teacher will inspire students in Key Stages 3 and 4 with a love for literature and language.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and effective English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Prepare students for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations.
• Develop students' understanding and appreciation of a wide range of texts.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and extracurricular activities.
• Foster a culture of literacy and articulate communication within the school.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in English.
• Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4).
• Strong and comprehensive knowledge of English literature and language.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities in English.
