An Outstanding Girls' school in Barnet is seeking an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher for a permanent, full-time position commencing in September. The successful English Teacher will cultivate a love for literature and language in students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging English lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a range of literary genres and language skills.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations, fostering a deep appreciation of texts.
  • Cultivate a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and articulate communication.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in English, providing thoughtful and constructive feedback.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in English Language and Literature.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching English at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4).
  • A strong and comprehensive knowledge of English literature, language, and effective teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring a love of reading and writing.
