Do you have a passion for literature, language, and inspiring young minds?

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive English department at a wonderful school. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 — with potential for KS5 depending on experience. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as an English Teacher:
  1. Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in English Language and Literature.
  2. Assess student progress and provide effective feedback to support achievement.
  3. Foster a love of reading, writing and spoken communication in all students.
  4. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning.
  5. Contribute to curriculum planning, interventions and enrichment activities.
  6. Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  7. Participate in department and whole-school CPD and activities.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Has QTS (or is working towards it) and a degree in English or related field.
  2. Has secure knowledge of the secondary English curriculum (KS3–KS4; KS5 desirable).
  3. Is a strong classroom practitioner with excellent communication skills.
  4. Has a passion for English and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
  5. Works well as part of a team and is committed to continuous professional growth.
  6. Is organised, reflective, and enthusiastic.
