Job description

A school in Oxfordshire is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled English Teacher to join their supportive and forward-thinking team. The successful candidate will be teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as English Teacher:

1. Deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature that foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking.
2. Help students develop their communication, analytical, and writing skills in a supportive environment.
3. Provide constructive feedback to support students’ progress and achievement.
4. Contribute to the wider school community through extra-curricular activities such as book clubs, drama productions, and writing workshops.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to continually improve teaching practices and contribute to departmental initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Holds QTS and a degree in English or a related subject.
2. Is passionate about teaching and inspiring students to reach their full potential.
3. Can create dynamic lessons that engage students and develop their skills as an English Teacher.
4. Has strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a variety of learning needs.
