Contract Type: Full-time, long-term (with potential for permanent placement)
Location: Tameside
Salary: MPS/UPS – £32,916 to £51,047 (based on experience and pay scale)

A well-established secondary school in Tameside is looking to appoint a dynamic and committed English Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This full-time position will involve teaching English Language and Literature to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The school offers a collaborative and inclusive culture with an emphasis on achievement, literacy development, and student wellbeing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum

  • Use formative and summative assessment data to track and improve student outcomes

  • Provide feedback that enables students to make measurable progress

  • Contribute to department schemes of work and extra-curricular provision (e.g. book clubs, drama productions)

  • Support whole-school literacy initiatives and interventions where necessary

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK

  • A degree in English or a related subject

  • Strong behaviour management and pastoral care capabilities

  • A genuine passion for literature and language

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching AQA or Edexcel exam board content
