Job description

Job Title: English Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive school. The role involves delivering engaging English lessons to students across KS3 and KS4, fostering a love for literature and language, and ensuring academic progress. This position begins in September 2025.

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
  2. Inspire and engage students in reading, writing, and critical analysis.
  3. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  4. Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  5. Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
  6. Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities.
  7. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English department.
  8. Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all pupils.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is desirable).
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and achievement.
  • Valid DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
