Are you an enthusiastic English Teacher with a passion for language and literature?

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and inspiring English Teacher to join a vibrant school in Sunderland. If you love helping students develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Your Role as an English Teacher:

  1. Deliver engaging and interactive English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  2. Help students master reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills.
  3. Encourage critical thinking by analysing texts and expressing ideas confidently.
  4. Track student progress through assignments, assessments, and feedback.
  5. Foster a love for literature by introducing students to a diverse range of books.
  6. Adapt teaching strategies to support students of different abilities.
  7. Create a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages learning.
  8. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the curriculum.

What We’re Looking For in an English Teacher:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE, with a degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  2. Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Flexibility to meet the diverse needs of students.
  5. A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring young minds.
  6. A team player who contributes to the school community.
  7. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
