Job summary

Qualifications

• QTS or QTLS is required to teach in UK schools.
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching references or equivalent recent experience.
• An enhanced DBS check and update service registration or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Secondary English Teacher to join our team. Your role will be essential in shaping young minds, fostering a love for literature, and supporting students to achieve their best in English Language and Literature.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering engaging and creative English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking and analysis
• Assess student progress, mark coursework, and provide constructive feedback
• Ability to communicate with and encourage children of all learning abilities, including those with additional needs
• Collaborate with colleagues in the English department to implement effective teaching strategies
• Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider school community

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is essential
• 2 years of employment references / relevant teaching experience
• An enhanced child DBS on the update service (or willingness to get one)
• Right to work in the UK - Essential (sponsorship is not available with this role)
• Strong knowledge of the UK Secondary English curriculum (KS3/KS4)
• Being passionate about teaching and inspiring secondary students
