Job description

Are you an experienced English Teacher committed to improving the lives of pupils and young people?

About the Role

We are seeking an outstanding SEND classroom practitioner to lead English and literacy across our school. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning in English, capable of developing strong relationships with pupils, and able to support staff in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Managing individual classroom support, small group work, 1:1 withdrawal sessions, and differentiating learning resources to suit students' needs.
  2. Deploying support staff, evaluating SEND provision effectiveness, and reporting to SLT and the Governing Body.
  3. Working with external agencies to ensure students receive optimal support to reach their potential.
  4. Leading staff INSET on Individual Needs, SEND initiatives, and legislative updates.
  5. Teaching some English lessons to work with larger student groups and showcase your expertise.

About the School

Groveside School is a new Special Educational Needs school for pupils aged 7-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs. Opening in September 2024, it will cater to 60 pupils.

*You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, providing more personal time.
