Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

Start Date: April 2024

Salary: £31,650- £49,084

Are you a passionate and motivated English teacher looking to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school? We’re recruiting an English teacher for a fantastic secondary school in Newcastle, where your enthusiasm and expertise can make a real difference.

About the Role:

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons suited to the unique needs of each pupil.
  2. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages pupil participation.
  3. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to student progress and development.
  4. Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the wider school community.
  5. Stay up to date with educational best practices and policies.

Requirements:
  1. Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  2. Provide at least two professional employment references.

What we’re looking for:
  1. A relevant degree in English or a related field.
  2. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  3. A passion for English literature and language, with the ability to inspire students.
  4. Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to student achievement.
  5. A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to school life.

This position is open to both experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers (ECTs) who are eager to grow in a supportive environment.
