Our client, a well-respected secondary school in Newbury, is seeking a motivated and skilled English Teacher to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to develop their career in a dynamic and high-achieving environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 teaching opportunities may be available).
  2. Inspire a love for reading, writing, and critical thinking among students.
  3. Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing feedback to support learning.
  4. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and teaching strategies.
  5. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports all students.
  6. Participate in extracurricular activities, such as reading clubs or school productions.
  7. Contribute to the wider school community and uphold its values and ethos.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. A degree in English, Literature, or a related subject.
  3. Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3 and KS4; KS5 is desirable but not essential).
  4. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students effectively.
  5. A commitment to raising attainment and ensuring all students achieve their potential.
  6. A passion for English and a desire to inspire the next generation.
