About the Role:

You will play a key role in delivering a broad and balanced English curriculum that encourages creativity, critical thinking and a lifelong love of reading and writing. Working within a collaborative department, you'll support students in reaching their full potential.

English Teacher Responsibilities:

• Plan and teach high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking and analytical skills.
• Encourage students to explore a variety of literary genres and texts.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing timely feedback and support.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that motivates and challenges learners.
• Contribute to departmental planning and school-wide initiatives.

English Teacher Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A degree in English or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for English.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and the well-being of all students.
• A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained).
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
