About This Job

English teacher - Stockton-on-Tees

Veritas Education are working with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Stockton-on-Tees who are looking for a highly motivated English teacher available from September 2025.

The role will be a full-time, long-term temporary position. The successful candidate will be competent delivering English at KS3 and KS4, be able to manage behaviour/follow the school's behavioural policy and create engaging and inspiring lessons for students of mixed ability.

Requirements For The Successful Candidate

  • Previous experience teaching English at secondary level
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Good knowledge of the national curriculum
  • Able to plan, deliver and adapt engaging Maths lessons for KS3/4 students
  • Ability to support children in the classroom with varied ability
  • Confident in behaviour management and managing student relations

You must also be approachable, inspiring, enthusiastic and be able to quickly build relationships. This is a great opportunity to join the school and become part of its committed English department.
