Location: Norton College, Worcester

Salary: Up to £39,519.90 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

We now have a fantastic opportunity for an English Teacher to join our close-knit team at Norton College in Worcester.

About the role:

Are you an English Teacher committed to improving the lives of pupils and young people? As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced English Teacher to join our team at Norton College in Worcester.

To provide a high-quality education service for our students in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and practices, and the standards set by the Regulatory Body. To work with the Head Teacher, leadership team, and other stakeholders to secure high standards throughout the school.

Main Purpose:

  • To teach the English curriculum throughout KS3 and KS4.
  • To support students in achieving Functional Skills and/or GCSE English qualifications.
  • Ensure that the curriculum offer meets the needs of individual students, taking into account their likes and interests.
  • Work closely with key students or groups of students, as identified by the Senior Leadership Team or the Head of Pastoral Support, to help develop their interests and positive engagement in education, social activities, and peer interactions.
  • To support students who have a variety of complex social, emotional, and mental health needs, including Autism, to access and achieve in education across a range of academic, vocational, and recreational activities.
  • Make effective use of the data system to support behaviour management and maintain relevant databases.

Essential:

QTS

Education Degree or equivalent experience

Experience working with SEN, SEMH students

Understanding of trauma-informed approaches
