GSL Education are working with a supportive school in Tower Hamlets that is looking for an English Teacher. This is a permanent role starting in September 2025, with a salary between £38,766 and £60,092 per year, depending on your experience.

About the Role

As an English Teacher in this welcoming school in Tower Hamlets, you will help students enjoy reading, writing and speaking with confidence. Your lessons will help students think clearly, express themselves well, and grow in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English lessons following the national curriculum.
• Create lessons that are fun, clear and helpful.
• Mark work and give helpful feedback to students.
• Keep the classroom calm and respectful so everyone can learn.
• Work with other teachers to support students and share good ideas.
• Take part in meetings and training to keep learning new things.

Job Requirements:

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Specialism in English, with sound subject knowledge across English Literature.
• Experience teaching English in UK schools.
• Good classroom management and clear communication skills.
• A caring and positive attitude towards students.
• Able to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
