Qualifications

Job description

SEN English Teacher

TLTP we are looking for an English Teacher to start as soon as possible until at least 31st March.

This school is an all through special needs school that teaches the national curriculum including GCSEs. Class sizes are between 8 and 10 pupils with a minimum of 2 Teaching Assistants per class. Their year groups range from Year 5/6 to Year 11.

TLTP are looking for a candidate that is an experienced English teacher able to teach the KS3 and KS4 National English curriculum.

They deliver iGCSE English Language and Literature - Cambridge iGCSE 0500 and Pearson Edexcel iGCSE English Literature so knowledge of this will be of benefit.

Teachers are required to deliver English KS3 and KS4 National English curriculum.

The teacher will deliver iGCSE English Language and Literature - Cambridge iGCSE 0500 and Pearson Edexcel iGCSE English Literature.

To look at our pupils holistically and to draw on a wide range of social care and teaching strategies to meet pupil needs whilst promoting interest and ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils.

Delivering lessons that are pupil-focused and creative, according to an agreed timetable, including cover lessons when necessary.

Provide opportunities for pupils to experience/understand English subjects in a range of contexts.

Differentiating the National Curriculum to meet the needs of ASD pupils and devising Individual Education Behaviour and Integration Plans (IEBIP) to reflect their development needs with appropriate SMART targets and actions.

Teachers must have:

  1. Commitment to the development of both yourself and the pupils in your class.
  2. QTS or QTLS.
  3. Ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning alongside a multi-disciplinary classroom team.
  4. Experience of taking the lead in your subject area and clear ideas of how to achieve exceptional progress for students.
  5. Ability to ensure that your pupils fulfil their potential and that you are ambitious in your expectations of them.
  6. Calm demeanour to maintain a sense of humour under pressure.
  7. Understanding and commitment to safeguarding children.
