GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join schools in the Hathersage area starting September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students in developing essential communication, reading, and writing skills in a dynamic learning environment.


As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons in language and literature, helping students improve their reading, writing, and analytical abilities across Key Stages.

Responsibilities as an English Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to a range of learning needs.
  • Support students in developing core literacy skills, exam strategies, and a love for reading.
  • Encourage critical thinking and expressive writing through creative teaching methods.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote literacy across the curriculum.

Requirements for English Teacher:

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
  • Experience teaching English at UK school level.
  • Excellent classroom management and a passion for the subject.
  • A current enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
  • Provide a full CV with a clear 10-year history, with any gaps explained.
