Job description

English Teacher - Secondary School, Burnley, Lancashire

Tradewind Recruitment is excited to be recruiting for a full-time English Teacher for a highly-regarded school in Burnley, Lancashire. This role is set to start in September 2025 and will run through at least July 2026, with the potential for further extension. The role will offer competitive pay in line with the national teaching pay scale (MPS1 - UPS3), meaning you will be paid between £162.31 and £251.71 per day.

Start Date: 1st September 2025

Contract: Full-time, with potential extension

Salary: In line with the national pay scale (MPS1 - UPS3)

Working Hours: Full-time, with planning and marking periods allocated

About the Role:

  1. Teaching English across Key Stage 3 and 4
  2. Planning and marking student work
  3. Supporting students in developing their literacy and communication skills
  4. Engaging with the wider school community, including extracurricular activities
  5. Working collaboratively with a strong, well-resourced English department

This is a full-time role, with a full timetable, and you will benefit from a supportive environment with minimal planning required, as the school's English department has extensive resources available. There is also ample free parking on-site.
