Job summary

Star Academies in Birmingham is inviting applications for a Teacher of English at Starbank Hob Moor Road (Secondary). You will plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that enable progression for all pupils, while maintaining an engaging classroom environment.

The successful candidate will hold a degree and QTS, be able to teach GCSE, and bring innovation to engage learners while contributing to safeguarding and inclusion within the school community.

Strategic Direction and Development

Plan, design and produce teaching materials and resources which are appropriate to age and ability.

Plan, deliver and review lessons which are appropriate to the age and ability of the pupils so as to facilitate progression in pupils’ learning.

Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of the pupils assigned.

Manage the classroom and teaching equipment so to create a positive learning environment which makes effective use of available resources.

Attend meetings, carry out administrative tasks and duties as required.

You will have:

A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.

The ability to teach to GCSE standard.

Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.

Experience of innovation and creativity to engage, enthuse and progress learners.
