St Mark’s School is a distinctive and inclusive, co-educational school, situated in the northeast of Bath. The school has made recent, rapid improvements, since joining the MNSP Trust and working as part of the Bath Hub. The school was inspected twice in the 2021/22 academic year, firstly by SIAMS in November 2021 and then OFSTED in February 2022. The school was categorised as a ‘Good’ school’ in both inspections, validating the wonderful work of the staff team. The school’s examination results in 2024 were very strong at GCSE, evidenced by a Progress 8 score of +0.38.

The English department is a successful department at St Mark’s School, as evidenced by a positive progress measure for Progress 8 in 2024, and strong commitment from the students who consistently work hard in their lessons.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding colleague to our English department with effect from September 2025 with the potential for a permanent contract. The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher. They will have experience of teaching English to GCSE level. They will be highly motivated and organised with the ability to effectively inspire and motivate young people through the medium of English.
