Job summary

Hidelow Grange School in Acton Beauchamp, Herefordshire is seeking an educator to join a small independent special school serving boys aged 11–18 with SEMH/trauma-informed needs. The role focuses on delivering engaging lessons, safeguarding, and contributing to a supportive multidisciplinary team within a caring school community.

• Coordinate and lead a subject team.

• Maintain strong communication with parents/carers and external professionals.

Up to £39,000 per annum DOE

The school:

Hidelow Grange School is a small Independent Special School based in Acton Beauchamp, Herefordshire. Our school provides specialist education to boys aged 11 to 18 years who have social, emotional and mental health needs.

With 7 students on roll and capacity of up to 20, our school offers a unique opportunity to shape provision for some of our most vulnerable learners. We pride ourselves on our integrated therapeutic ethos, holistic development, and unwavering focus on safeguarding..

What we’re looking for:

• Qualifications and experience.
• Experience working with learners with diverse needs, including SEMH/trauma-informed backgrounds.
• Experience in small-school settings (desirable).
• Experience supporting colleagues in English across the curriculum (desirable).
• Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum.
• Understanding of effective assessment, intervention, and differentiation strategies for diverse learners.
• Excellent classroom practice, with strong behaviour management skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons for a variety of learning needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including with parents/carers and external professionals.
• Ability to coordinate and lead a subject team.
• Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and procedures.
