English Second Language Teacher

Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp) is an online learning platform connecting K‑12 students in the US, Canada and Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges. As a tutor you will teach ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum, delivering 50‑minute 1‑on‑1 lessons on a flexible schedule you set.

The pay rate for this position is $20 USD per class plus additional incentives.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1‑on‑1 instruction for your students
• Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student's age and ability
• Submit class feedback after each lesson
• Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner
• Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting
• Communicate with Cosmo staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3 years of experience teaching grades K‑12 in ELA
• Experience with K‑12 ELA standards and curriculum
• Experience teaching ESL learners
• Teaching qualification preferred but not required
• Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000
• Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1:1
• Availability between 8‑2 PM GMT Monday‑Friday or 5 AM‑2 PM GMT weekends
• Minimum of 20 hours of availability on a weekly basisAccess to a private, quiet location
• Currently located in the UK
