Job summary

Greenshaw Learning Trust is seeking a dedicated Primary School Improvement Lead specialising in English to join its Trust-wide support team. You will work 3–4 days per week across South West schools, collaborating with the Director of Primary Education to raise standards in reading, phonics, writing and foundational skills from nursery to Year 6.

You will build leaders’ capacity, lead the English network, deliver CPD, and onboard new schools while supporting senior leadership to drive

Qualifications

• Holds Degree level qualifications and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Brings recent, successful experience as an English leader or adviser with impact on standards.
• Extensive experience in curriculum development and implementation for reading, phonics, writing, and foundational skills.
• Proven ability to observe teaching, analyse data, and challenge to drive improvement.
• Commitment to educational equity, inclusion for vulnerable pupils.
• Holds a valid driving licence and has access to a car for travel across GLT sites.

Responsibilities

• Promote high standards by supporting senior leadership teams to raise standards across all schools.
• Implement the English Raising Attainment Strategy from nursery to Key Stage 2.
• Lead the English network: plan meetings, digest research, curate intranet resources.
• Deliver CPD and drive research-informed practice to widen the school improvement offer.
• Onboard new schools and support SLTs when joining the Trust.
