English, Maths and Science Tutor Opportunity – 1:1, Walsall

Prospero Teaching is seeking English, Maths, and Science Tutors to provide bespoke 1:1 tuition to secondary-aged young people currently without a school placement.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for individuals wishing to move away from traditional classroom settings and make a positive impact on disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. The successful tutor will create, plan, and deliver tailored lessons to bridge educational gaps in KS3 or KS4 students, enhancing their engagement and attainment.

We are looking for passionate English, Maths, and Science Tutors who are eager to work with children with diverse learning needs, using creative, flexible, and holistic approaches to improve their educational prospects.

Contract/Position Details:

• Location: Within the community or pupils' homes in Walsall
• Position: English, Maths, and Science Tutor
• Type of work: Contract
• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: Until the pupil reintegrates into a new school
• End date: Ongoing
• Contract type: Temporary
• Full-time/part-time: Part-time (around 15 hours per week per student)
• Minimum pay: GBP22+ per hour
• Hours: Flexible, depending on family needs

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• QTS or equivalent
• UK classroom teaching experience
• Creative, patient, and innovative mindset
• Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils

• Have the right to work in the UK
• Possess an enhanced child DBS check registered with the update service or be willing to obtain one
• Provide two professional child-related references
