Job description

Support students needing extra help with maths and/or English by working effectively on a one-to-one basis or with small groups to develop their skills and knowledge. Collaborate with colleagues to improve student outcomes across the College.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Support students identified as needing extra help in maths and English, setting SMART targets, reviewing progress, and preparing resources for students with disabilities or literacy/numeracy challenges.
  2. Work with students in maths and English Hubs, delivering drop-in support, workshops, and revision sessions, supervising students, and monitoring their progress.
  3. Complete administrative tasks such as maintaining records of support and developing learning materials.
  4. Coordinate with curriculum and subject lecturers to plan support activities and maximize student achievement.
  5. Promote maths and English development through events and activities, supporting students with additional needs and encouraging positive behavior.
  6. Signpost students to relevant support services as needed.
  7. Attend team meetings and staff development activities.
  8. Participate in events like parents evenings, enrolment, and open days, liaising with parents and external partners.
