Job Title: English Lecturer

Hourly Rate: Up to £45 per hour


About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced English Lecturer to join our academic team on a temporary contract. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective English lessons, supporting students to develop their language, literature, and communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with curriculum requirements
• Assess, track, and report on student progress and achievement
• Provide academic support and guidance to students
• Develop teaching materials and resources to enhance learning
• Participate in team meetings, quality assurance, and staff development activities

Requirements:

• A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
• Experience teaching English at [further/higher] education level
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to inspire and support learners with diverse needs

Desirable:

• Experience working in FE/HE sector
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms and blended learning methods
• Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet a variety of learner needs
