New College Swindon is seeking an English specialist to join our department and deliver high-quality teaching across English programmes. We welcome full-time, part-time or job-share arrangements to suit your schedule, with 5.3 FTE positions currently available.

Whether you are an experienced lecturer or an English specialist moving into education, you will help learners build confidence, communication and literacy skills for life and future progression.

Qualifications

  • A degree in English or closely related subject.
  • A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Experience teaching, training or mentoring learners in an educational or workplace setting.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for English.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and adults.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement across the department.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding learner experience.
  • Support learners to progress into further education, apprenticeships, higher education or employment.
