The vacancy

Job Purpose:

Are you passionate about teaching and inspiring the next generation of learners? We are seeking a dedicated and innovative English Lecturer to join our diverse team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality education on a range of further and higher education courses, developing specific subject areas, and leading programmes of study.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and manage a variety of further education courses.
  • Develop learning materials and mark student assignments.
  • Lead and coordinate course teams and specific subject areas.
  • Implement appropriate assessment methods to achieve learning goals.
  • Provide student guidance, counselling, and support.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in research, consultancy activities, and course verification.
  • Recruit and select students, meeting enrolment targets.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Appropriate teaching qualification or substantial industrial experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a lecturing or training role within the Further and Higher Education sector.
  • Knowledge of innovative learning and teaching techniques.
  • Understanding of internal quality processes and procedures.

  • Customer-centred approach with attention to detail.
  • Professional appearance and discretion.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, health and safety, and safeguarding policies.
