Job description

This is a leading institution committed to academic excellence and student success. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable English Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and inspire students in their study of English language and literature. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as English Lecturer:
  1. Deliver engaging and well-structured lectures in English Language and/or Literature at [Further Education (FE) / Higher Education (HE)] level.
  2. Develop and update course materials in line with curriculum requirements.
  3. Use a variety of teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
  4. Assess and provide constructive feedback on student work to enhance academic progress.
  5. Conduct tutorials, workshops, and practical sessions where applicable.
  6. Provide academic and career guidance to students.
  7. Engage in research and professional development to enhance teaching practice.
  8. Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental meetings, and quality assurance processes.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. A degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a related field.
  2. A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd) or willingness to obtain one.
  3. Experience teaching English at [FE/HE] level.
  4. Strong communication and presentation skills.
  5. Passion for teaching and supporting student success.
