Job Title - Teacher of English

Salary - 25,647- 27,540 per annum (subject to qualifications) + 1,700 market supplement for DET-qualified teachers

Location - Chatham

Contract Type - Permanent (full-time, part-time, or job share considered)

Hours - 40 hours per week (08:30 - 16:30, Monday-Friday)

Role Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality English teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons and resources tailored to learners' needs.
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
  • Assess student work in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Support students pastorally, encouraging confidence and resilience.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, student enrichment, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Requirements
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
  • Enhanced DBS check.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English with the ability to inspire learners.
  • Compassionate, flexible approach to supporting young people with diverse needs.

Desirable: Recognised teaching qualification (DET, Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent), Previous teaching experience in English, Experience supporting students with barriers to education or SEN.
