Job summary

Oasis Academy MediaCityUK in Salford is seeking an Associate Assistant Principal (English) to lead English across the academy, shape a challenging curriculum and raise literacy outcomes.

You will work with senior leaders to drive teaching and assessment improvements, coach staff and promote high expectations and academic excellence. This is a unique opportunity to influence literacy and language across the academy and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Degree or equivalent qualification in English or a related subject.
• Excellent subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
• Proven track record of successful teaching and leadership in English.
• Experience of improving student outcomes and raising standards.
• Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment and teaching and learning.
• Experience of coaching, mentoring and developing colleagues.
• Ability to analyse and use performance data to drive improvement.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Commitment to inclusion, high expectations and student achievement.
• Commitment to the Oasis ethos and values.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for English across the academy.
• Lead the development and implementation of an ambitious and challenging English curriculum.
• Drive improvements in teaching, learning and assessment within the English department.
• Inspire students to become confident readers, writers, speakers and thinkers.
• Use data intelligently to secure outstanding outcomes for all learners.
• Lead, coach and develop colleagues, building leadership capacity within the department.
• Support whole-school literacy strategies and contribute to wider academy improvement priorities.
• Work closely with senior leaders to raise standards, improve provision and enhance student achievement.
• Promote a culture of high expectations, aspiration and academic excellence.
• Contribute to the strategic leadership and continuous improvement of the academy.
