Job description

Job Title: English Language Teacher (Fixed Term)

Duration: Friday 4th July 2025 to Sunday 17th August 2025

St Edmund’s College Summer School is seeking English Language Teachers to collaborate with the Academic Manager, Assistant Academic Manager, and Academic Team Leaders to deliver an exceptional academic program. Teachers will engage students with motivating and inspiring lessons to promote their English language development and ensure a positive experience.

The main duties include:

  1. Prioritize safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety of students, complying with statutory safeguarding and child protection policies.
  2. Plan and deliver 12 hours of English Language classes based on the School’s Content- and Task-based approaches.
  3. Design lessons around excursions, ensuring student engagement during activities.
  4. Participate in weekly planning meetings.
  5. Assist with assessment and placement procedures as directed.
  6. Write End-of-Course Reports.
  7. Lead class excursions, ensuring student safety and well-being.
  8. Conduct pastoral 'class talk time' sessions.
  9. Administer weekly tests.
  10. Submit and revise weekly Schemes of Work as required.
  11. Perform break and lunch duties as needed.
  12. Maintain all required records in the Masterfile.
  13. Attend INSET training sessions.
  14. Follow all child welfare and protection protocols.
  15. Perform other duties as appropriate.
