English Academic Coach – Manchester

Are you a recent English graduate passionate about helping young people develop their literacy skills? This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive secondary school and gain valuable classroom experience while making a real impact on student progress prior to applying for your teacher training.

Position: English Academic Coach
Salary: £90 - £100 Per day
Duration: September 2025 until July 2026
School Rating: Ofsted “Good” mid-sized Secondary School, Inner City Manchester
Focus: Supporting English across Key Stage 3 & 4

The Role

As an English Academic Coach, you will be working closely with the English department to support students in developing their reading, writing, and analytical skills. You will deliver targeted interventions, provide one-to-one and small group tuition, and support in-class learning across Key Stage 3 and 4. Your role will be instrumental in helping pupils gain confidence in English and prepare effectively for their GCSEs.

The Candidate

This role is ideal for a recent English graduate who is considering a career in teaching. You should have strong subject knowledge, a passion for English Literature and Language, and excellent communication skills. A proactive approach, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to support young people are essential.
