Job Description:

English Academic Coach – Ideal for Aspiring Teachers

Want to build classroom experience before teacher training? This English Academic Coach role is the perfect stepping stone.

*** English Academic Coach
*** £80 – £110 per day
*** September 2025 – July 2026
*** School Location: Ward of Hall Green
*** 1:1 and small group support in English at KS3 and KS4

The Role
You’ll support students across KS3 and KS4 in English, focusing on reading comprehension, writing skills, exam preparation, and building confidence in literacy. Working both 1:1 and in small groups, you’ll tailor sessions to meet learners’ needs—whether they’re struggling with basic grammar or preparing for their GCSEs.
You’ll also assist the English department in creating resources, tracking progress, and maintaining a focused classroom environment. This role is hands-on, rewarding, and a great way to develop your subject knowledge and communication skills.

The Candidate
You’re a graduate with a strong academic background in English or humanities, and you’re considering a career in teaching or education. You’re articulate, patient, and confident engaging with students of different abilities. Any previous experience—tutoring, mentoring, or supporting young people—is a real bonus, but the right attitude and work ethic matter most.

The School
This secondary school in Hall Green has a strong English department, supportive leadership, and a track record of developing graduates into future teachers. You’ll work in a school that values literacy and academic support, and you’ll be given responsibility, training, and clear guidance from the outset.

If you want meaningful experience before taking on teacher training—apply now.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit. Check our Blog for more information.
