Job description

Engineers - Mechanical & Electrical/ Multi-Skilled Engineer – Due to expansion we are searching for experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineers to join our state-of-the-art waste management facility in Coventry, West Midlands on full-time permanent basis!

About the role:

As our Multi-skilled Engineer, you will work as part of a team to ensure our facility operates smoothly and efficiently. You will be conducting preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and minimising downtime. Your role will directly contribute to our mission of efficient waste management.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in accordance with OEM specifications, recording data in our CMMS.
  • Collaborate with the cleaning team to maintain high performance standards. Monitor, engage, and support operational staff to ensure safety and efficiency across shifts.
  • Provide immediate support to operators as needed, oversee timely plant repairs and ensure health and safety compliance, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
  • Step into the role of team leader during their absence, fostering a collaborative environment. As well as mentoring junior team members to promote training, compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement.

About you:

You will be an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer who has a background in mechanical & electrical engineering with proven experience in on-site maintenance, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively under tight schedules in a planned maintenance environment. You will hold a minimum level 3 apprenticeship in engineering or a related field. Ideally, you will have some experience in working with heavy equipment such as conveyors, motors, hydraulics, PLC-based systems, and waste industry experience.
