As an Engineering Workshop Technician, you will provide practical technical support and advice to a wide range of students, staff, and project activities. You will design, build, modify, maintain, and repair items of scientific research equipment and instrumentation as required by academic research within the Department of Physics. You will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment in the mechanical workshop and in the research labs.

Applications are invited for an Engineering Workshop Technician to join the Department of Physics Mechanical Workshop. The successful candidate will be part of a team of researchers and other manufacturing technicians working in the areas of Experimental Quantum Optics and Photonics. Central to the role is the collaborative design and manufacture of precision mechanical components using CNC and manual lathes, mills, and other mechanical workshop machinery.
