Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Shop Floor Supervisor to lead an aerospace engineering workshop.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, experience supervising a team, and expertise in utilizing CNC machines.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate workshop team activities to ensure smooth operations and timely project completion.
  • Oversee manufacturing and maintenance of aerospace components using CNC machines.
  • Train, mentor, and guide workshop personnel, including CNC machinists, to optimize performance and foster continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to prioritize and schedule work orders based on operational and customer needs.
  • Manage shop floor machinists, both skilled and semi-skilled.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
  • Motivate and drive the workforce.
  • Investigate, advise, and recommend solutions to problems.
Qualifications
  • Proven supervisory experience in an engineering workshop, preferably in aerospace.
  • Proficiency with CNC machines and familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and commitment to a safe, inclusive work environment.
Day-to-day Activities
  • Oversee daily workshop activities.
  • Collaborate on project planning and execution.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure workflow and address production challenges.
  • Monitor production flow and maintain processes and procedures.
  • Maximize cycle times and meet OEE targets.
Hours & Compensation

Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am - 12:30pm (39 hours per week)

Salary: Up to £24/hr, approximately £48,672 annually.
