Engineering Tutor - Industry applicants welcome (Level 1–3 Vocational Engineering). Location: An Ofsted-rated Good further education college in Middlesbrough. Contract: Full-time, permanent. Salary: £24,856 – £37,284 per annum. Benefits: 45 days annual leave, Teachers Pension (28.68%).

Think FE Ltd. is recruiting on behalf of an Ofsted-rated Good further education college in Middlesbrough for an Engineering Tutor to deliver hands-on, skills-based training to adult learners. You will play a vital role in shaping the future workforce, helping learners gain the practical knowledge and technical skills they need for success in the engineering sector. We welcome applications from experienced engineers looking to transition into teaching. If you have a solid industry background and are passionate about sharing your skills, the college will support your development into a teaching role.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering training aligned with awarding body and industry standards
  • Training, assessing, and supporting learners on competence-based programmes
  • Assisting learners with individual learning plans and progression targets
  • Maintaining a safe and compliant classroom environment
  • Managing learning resources and reporting maintenance issues
  • Supporting student applications and enrolments in collaboration with academic teams
  • Providing pastoral and academic support throughout the learner journey

Subjects taught may include: Electrical, Mechanical Maintenance, Welding, Installation & Fabrication, CAD Drawing, CCNSG, and Hydraulics (Levels 1–3).

What you need
Essential
  • Level 3 qualification or higher in engineering
  • Strong UK industry experience in one or more engineering disciplines
  • Willingness to work towards a teaching and/or assessing qualification if not already held
Desirable
  • NEBOSH or IOSH certification
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671) and/or 2391 Inspection & Testing
  • Assessors Qualification (CAVA, A1, or equivalent)
