Job summary

A leading medical equipment company in the Plymouth area seeks an Engineering Technician - Moulding to provide night shift engineering support and ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include resolving equipment breakdowns and coordinating maintenance. Candidates should have a relevant degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and experience in automated manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proven industry experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
  • A working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, electrical, and servo systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to technical associates.
  • Identify improvements to existing equipment.
  • Ensure all manufacturing equipment operates as per standards.
  • Coordinate yearly preventative maintenance activities.

Skills

ROLE OVERVIEW

An exciting role has opened up for an Engineering Technician - Moulding to join a leading medical equipment company based in Plymouth area. As the Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive night shift engineering support to technical associates, resolving complex equipment breakdowns, and ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing processes.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to technical associates in resolving complex machine-related faults.
  • Identify improvements to existing equipment that lead to health and safety improvements, cost reductions, increased productivity, or quality enhancements.
  • Ensure all manufacturing equipment is set up and produces products according to established standards and validated settings.
  • Coordinate yearly preventative maintenance activities to ensure tasks are completed timely and meet production planning demands.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Relevant degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven industry experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment in the moulding discipline.
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, electrical, and servo systems.
