Job Description

Multi Skilled Engineering Technician (Blow Moulding department)

Location: Manchester

Contract: Permanent, 4 on 4 off (2 days & 2 nights, 7-7)

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Engineering Technician to join our Manchester Blow Moulding facility within Muller Milk & Ingredients. The role involves providing safe, reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults, and actively seeking improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure effective handover of information across shifts
• Use PMS to support prioritisation and problem solving (RCFA)
• Diagnose faults, test, repair, and maintain Mechanical/Electrical equipment
• Observe, recognise, and report machinery defects or symptoms of failure; provide CMMS data
• Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers for technical support and parts procurement
• Lead shift-based problem solving
• Work collaboratively with First Line Response Technicians
• Coach operators on asset care tasks
• Identify and implement improvements
• Address lifecycle issues with recommendations
• Support 5WHY OE and RCA techniques for long-term fixes
• Support departmental 5S programs

Candidate Requirements

• Recognised apprenticeship
• Experience in maintenance within manufacturing industry
• Mechanical/Electrical bias
• ONC/HNC qualification
• Electrical qualification
• Multiskilled engineering experience
• Desirable: IOSH/Nebosh certification
• This is a 4 on 4 off shift role (days/nights rotating)
